Not one… not two… but THREE trophies for HAODS
Huge congratulations to the HAODS Henley Drama Festival Play team on their performance of World Without Memory by Seth Kramer, and the recognition they received on Saturday’s awards night.
The first award they received was the Best Actress Trophy, awarded to Angharad Jones for her portrayal of Robin. The adjudicator praised her honesty, her sincerity and the strength of her performance – apparently, when he was looking down the list of actresses to see who deserved the award her name “jumped off the page”. Richard Evans took the next award for Best Actor for his role as Abe. He was recognised by the adjudicator as playing this character without over the top sentimentality, but with truthfulness and sensitivity.
The whole cast and crew were then honoured with the trophy for Runners Up Overall. The play was admired for its courage in dealing with such a deep and moving topic, and its sensitivity in presenting it. It was a wonderful recognition of the hard work and dedication of the team, so a massive well done to Richard, Angharad, Kevin Goodfellow (Bob), James Gwynne (Bob 2 and Voice), Kelly Britton (SM), Jennamarie Smith (Lighting and Sound) and Samantha Fields (Director).
HAODs would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported the play on the night (and apologise for making you all cry). If you weren’t able to catch the Kenton performance, or if you did but you would like to see it again in a different venue, come along to the Unicorn Theatre in Abingdon on Thursday 6 June, or the Corn Exchange at Wallingford on Friday 14 June. We would love to have your support, and you are guaranteed a good night’s entertainment.
