On Call Henley Firefighters Needed

Fireman-Recruitment-1Henley and Wargrave fire stations are to continue sharing resources for a further three months it was confirmed by John Nixon, Fire Risk Manager of South Vale Area Fire & Rescue at last week’s Town & Community council meeting.

An initial three-month trial was launched in September because of shortage of firefighters at both stations to cover weekends.  They cover alternate weekends and this will continue to the end of March now.

John Nixon, told the Town & Community committee, “There has been no recruitment of new firefighters in the last three months and we really need some help with a recruitment drive. We’re looking to recruit Retained firefighters who can offer a number of hours a week around their other work.”

The Henley Herald wanted to help find some new firefighters for this important role in the community and has offered to advertise and promote the role. Full training will be given and if you would like to learn more about the role, please go to the job advertisement at https://www.henleyherald.com/business/jobs/
