Authors, Patrons, local businesses and friends of the Henley Literary Festival enjoyed a party this week at Hotel du Vin to launch this year’s event.  Henmans Freeth LLP Solicitors who are one of this year’s sponsors hosted the event.  Director from Henmans Freeth, Samantha Leigh, said, “We are delighted to be a sponsor of this fantastic event again this year.”

The Festival runs from 29 September to 5 October with over 100 events covering fiction, history, politics, sport, entertainment.  Paddy Ashdown, Roger Bannister, Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Bonnie Greer OBE are just some of the top names appearing at the festival this year.

The 2014 event also sees a much bigger Children’s Literary Festival.  Over the weekend a marquee in the town square will form a festival hub, including a box office and free children’s events. The festival will be presenting its biggest ever children’s programme, supported by Invesco Perpetual, with over 20 events including storytelling, workshops and famous characters taking place at the River and Rowing Museum and other venues.  Harriet Ryan, Events Director said, “We wanted to include more events for children this year as reading and enjoying books is so important for them.”

Tickets will be available to Friends of the Festival on 15 July and on public sale from 28 July.  For more details go to www.henleyliteraryfestival.co.uk/
