Emily from Hotel du Vin Launches our New Wine Blog
Emily Bonsor, aged 19, originally from Henley on Thames, and has been working for Hotel du Vin Henley for 8 months now. Emily’s personal interests are sailing, scuba diving, wine tastings, socialising and has a great love in travelling! Emily would love to live in Italy one day and produce her own wine.
Emily is extremely excited to be starting her own wine column next month on the Henley Herald. She will have her very own personal wine choices available on a weekly basis which can be purchased from the main bar. These can be enjoyed relaxing in the snug or our newly refurbished courtyard. Emily will be delighted to meet you in the hotel whether you wish to have an informal chat about wines or to organise a personal wine tasting session. Also please look out for the next coming events such as wine tastings, cocktail master classes and Japanese whiskey tastings. All the details can be found on the Events Calendar.
Emily is extremely knowledgeable and very approachable bringing a light hearted approach to wine in general. Emily has already proven herself on past wine tastings with some of the hotels key accounts. Such as the Henley Cricket Club, Rue du Vin, HSBC and Carlson Wagonlit Travel. Carlson Wagonlit travel were so impressed by Emily that they have written a feature about her and the HDV wine experience in the next edition of the CWT meetings and events client magazine.
Emily has been mentored by our own head sommelier Mike Harrison who is also a well known judge of 30 years. They are both often seen at trade wine tastings in London, exclusive wine events such as the Verve Cliquot’s private rare vintage tasting, big fortified tasting and the fizz show to name just a few.
Emily said, “We look forward to seeing you in the hotel whether it is for lunch, dinner, a tasting or simply a glass of wine!”
