On the coldest night of December so far, 17 members of the Thames Valley Chorus based at Waingels College, Woodley got the audience warmed up by singing and dancing along to the classic song ‘Is this the Way to Amarillo? in the back garden of Simmons & Sons in Bell Street.
This was the the group’s second appearance at the Living Advent Calendar, they appeared at the first one two years ago. The all men choir included Jacob Pearce, aged 11 who was singing with his Grandad, Andy Pearce and was led by Philip Wood.
They started off their performance with ‘This Little Light of Mine’ and they went onto sing Christmas carols and ‘Can you Feel the Love Tonight’ from the Lion King which got a big cheer from the crowd.
Their finale was ‘White Christmas’ by Bing Crosby and at that point the new snow machine blasted into action again to the delight of the audience.
The choir is running a 3 week course ‘Come and Sing in Harmony’ starting on Tuesday 6 Januaryat Waingels College from 7.30-9.45pm. To register email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone Peter on 01491 641021

What will be the surpise tonight at the Leander Club? Why not come down and find out at 6.15pm tonight? Tonight’s sponsor is Brakspear so I’m sure there’ll be a pint of their best on offer.
