LAC Day 22 – Children’s Theatre Group Pitch Perfect Performance
Henley Children’s Theatre Group made their pitch perfect performance on the Henley Hawks rugby pitch last night as part of the Living Advent Calendar. This was the first time that the Living Advent Calendar had invaded the pitch to perform there.
The Grandstand was full with standing room only and the children delighted the audence with a great set of festive songs which started with Jingle Bells and then went on to include I saw Mummy Singing Santa Claus, White Christmas, Freddie the Fir Tree and finished with Pantomime. There was a mixture of group and solo performances which included 4 year olds Soraya Chopra and Lorelei Southwell, who sang Little Man You’ve Had A Busy Day who got the biggest cheers from the audience.
Muffin Hurst, leader of the group said: “The children haven’t hadvery much time to rehearse for this performance because we have been concentrating on our annual pantomime which this year is Snow White. The children though had fun learning the songs and were very excited to be performing in this year’s Living Advent Calendar at the rugby club.
The Chocolate Cafe provided the refreshments last night and raffle prizes, included tea for two at the cafe in Thames Side, a bottle of wine from the Head Partnership solicitors and a day’s workshop at the Henley Photo School. All proceeds for the raffle each night go to five local charities – Camp Mohawk, Chiltern Centre for Disabled Children, Headway Thames Valley, Regatta for the Disabled and Riverside Counselling.
Tonight’s performance is in Market Place, starting again at 6.15pm and is being sponsored by Choco Mallow Coco.
