Is pain restricting your golf game? Not enjoying your golf? Too many bad rounds? Want to do something about it?
It has long been shown that chiropractic treatment can help treat aches and pains that accompany the touring professional and amateur golfer which may have been caused by faulty swing patterns, poor posture, restricted spinal movement or previous injuries.
Chiropractic care can help with improving posture, increase and improve flexibility and restore correct nerve function. Professional golfers have chiropractic treatment on a regular basis, whether it is before a competition, after a competition or even during a competition whilst on tee!
“I’ve been going to chiropractors for as long as I can remember, it is as important to my training as practicing my swing”. Tiger Woods.
Tiger Woods is a huge advocate of receiving chiropractic care, whether it is because he feels a twinge or more importantly because he knows it keeps him swinging the club in a fluid rotational rhythm, making him arguably the greatest golfer of all time.
So why does Tiger place such of emphasis on chiropractic?
Mis-alignments throughout the spine can lead to muscle imbalances, unequal weight distribution and of course; pain. It is no surprise the spine can be misaligned throughout a golf swing if you can imagine that initially, the spine is twisted to extreme in one direction for the backswing; then, after hesitating for a second, the golfer’s back must suddenly change direction, forcefully twist and bend through the downswing, so this is an asymmetric, ballistic movement.
Hip, knee, ankle, neck and elbow injuries can also be results of poor flexibility, trunk control, postural control, and improper muscle firing patterns. .
Studies show that more than 80 percent of golfers experience back pain or injury at some point while actively playing golf. Don’t be one of those 80% that lives with pain whilst trying to enjoy the game you love.
