A mixture of colours, materials and mediums brought a colourful start to this year’s Henley Youth Festival last week in the school art and film workshops. The workshops were again sponsored by HEDFAS (Henley Decorative and Fine Art Society) and this year run by local professional artists including Camilla Shelley and Emily Couling.
The workshops were inspired around the ‘Me in My World’ theme and included self portraits, a ‘Me in My World’ globe and ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ amongst others. Some of the artwork made in the workshops will be on display at the HYF Exhibition at the Henley Youth Centre this weekend from 10-3pm.
As well as art there was animation and mini movie workshops where the children used plasticine, cut-out, drawings and large objects to tell an animated moving story. Some of the films will be shown on Thursday (19 March) at 4.00pm at the Kenton Theatre.
Kate Swinburne-Johnson, co Chair of the Henley Youth Festival said, “We are really pleased to be able to offer such fantastic range of workshops and would like to thank HEDFAS for supporting them again this year.”
