Gary Hosting Music Quiz & Running London Marathon in Memory of Claire
Do you love music? Are you a walking jukebox? DJ Gary Boys is hosting a music quiz at the Angel on the Bridge on Thursday 7 April starting at 7.30pm in aid of the NSPCC and in memory of his partner Claire and as part of his fundraising for the London Marathon.
Having been inspired by running the Henley Half Marathon last year (when he raised £2,600), Gary is now pushing himself even further and running the London Marathon in April for the NSPCC and in memory of his partner, Claire Peacock, who passed away suddenly two years ago of a brain aneurysm. Claire was a social worker at Buckinghamshire County Council for 10 years running a child protection team.
Commenting on the enormous challenge, Gary, said, “Just the thought of running a marathon makes me shudder. However I am always someone that likes to take on a challenge and this seemed too good an offer to refuse. The day Claire died, I lost my life partner. I may never find another Claire but I can certainly do all I can to raise money for a cause I know would be close to her heart. By choosing the NSPCC I’m protecting and safeguarding vulnerable children in my own way. I know she will be looking down on me with a glass of wine chuckling to herself that yet again I have shocked her with another crazy adventure.”
Ian Payne, sports presenter for LBC radio, will compere so book your tables quick and register your teams. Tickets are £10 per person for teams of up to 5 and all monies raised will go directly to the NSPCC and Whizzkidz. To book your place please email gary@onedeck.co.uk. We hope to see you there!
