As the morning mist cleared on Saturday morning to give us beautiful Spring sunshine, around 80 children showed spirit and determination to complete the hilly course of the HYF Run at Swiss Farm.

Eileen Unwin from Go Kids Henley organised the event for the first time.  She said, “This is the first year that Go Kids have hosted the event and it was a pleasure to organise and watch such inspiring and energetic children.”

Gary Connery, the famous stuntman and his side-kick Charlie Shaw of Gillotts School acted as ‘hares’ for the races whilst Rory Domville of Henley College encouraged the children from behind as a ‘tortoise’.

Winners were:

Year 3/4 Girls – Charlotte Ashby of Nettlebed School
Year 3/4 Boys – Finbar Scott of Sacred Heart School
Year 5/6 Girls – Georgina Ashby of Nettlebed School
Year 5/6 Boys – Elio Babb of Peppard School

Inspirational prizes in the form of Go Kids t-shirts were presented to children who may not have ‘won’ in the true sense of the word but were worthy and incredible ‘winners’ nonetheless.
