This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly professional curatorial team.
You will support the Curatorial department in all areas of their practical work including the development, preparation and installation of temporary exhibitions, collections documentation, permanent gallery updates and preventative conservation.
As part of the Curatorial team the Assistant Curator will be an integral part of the day-to-day running of the department. Reporting to the Head of Collections & Exhibitions they will help with the administration of new acquisitions and loans, be the first point of contact for collections and exhibition enquiries, assist with research for exhibitions and new displays, undertake collections documentation and help maintain the department’s online presence.
This is a role for a professionally trained individual, possibly in the early stages of their career, wishing to gain hands on, practical experience of all aspects of curatorial work. The department comprises a Head of Collections and Exhibitions and two Assistant Curators caring for a collection of more than 20,000 objects within our own collections, and presenting temporary exhibitions to the very highest standard.
