Local Young Artists’ Work Chosen for National Competition
The Arts Society Henley (formerly Hedfas) visited the A level art exhibitions of Henley College and the Piggott School and have selected 6 artworks from five pupils for submission to The Arts Society (previously Nadfas)/RBA competition. Any winners work will be displayed at the Mall Galleries in March along mainstream British artists.
Tasia Hancock, Sophie Chapman, Haleema Qayyum from The Piggott School and Sophie Cullen and Fliz Moore from Henley College were presented with a certificate and a cheque for £50 by the Arts Society Henley President, The Lady Camoys, at Phyllis Court last week.
Liz Jarvis one the of judges said, “The prizegiving was a very happy occasion and the students were delighted to receive their awards. The Arts Society Henley members were treated to an exhibition of the artworks which was greatly appreciated and they were fascinated by the background inspiration and creativity of these works.”
