Diabetes & End of Life Planning Free Talks at Townlands

End of Life Planning – 14 November at 2.30-4.30pm, Townlands Hospital

The Bell Surgery, as part of its Life Planning series of talks, has invited speakers from Sue Ryder to address the issue of ‘Advanced Care Support for the End of Life’.  One expert will be giving advice on empowerment and resilience in planning for end of life while another will be helping the audience understand what practical care is available, in terms of services and equipment.

Sue Ryder explains, ‘We provide incredible hospice and neurological care for people facing a frightening, life-changing diagnosis. It’s not just expert medical care we provide. It’s the emotional support and practical things we take care of too. We do whatever we can to be a safety net for our patients and their loved ones at the most difficult time of their lives’.

Royal Berkshire Hospital Consultants to Give Diabetes Talk – 20 November 6-8pm Townlands Hospital

Diabetes is the fastest growing health threat of our times. Since 1996, the number of people living with diabetes has more than doubled. If nothing changes, it is estimated that over five million people in the UK will have diabetes.

To help our community understand this issue, the Bell Surgery has organised a free fact-filled talk, ‘Diabetes and Endocrinology’.

It will be delivered by consultants and specialist staff from the Diabetes and Endocrinology team RBH who will be sharing the health models they have developed for Diabetes and Endocrinology. Come along and learn about this important topic for those who wish to learn more.

If you are interesting in attending either talk contact the Bell Surgery on 01491 843250 or email thebellsurgery@nhs.net.
