Delay to Opening of A4155

Work was due to be completed on the A4155 Henley Road after 10 weeks on Monday next week.

However Oxfordshire County Council have today confirmed that “The work on the A4155 has gone well and, with this being a major piece of work, we took the opportunity to look more closely at future-proofing the road during the planned work and it will now open on 11 November. We have therefore decided to do some extra work to build resilience into the road that will hopefully reduce maintenance costs and the need to return to other works in the long term. We will also be doing some further works which include a revised safety barrier scheme, a length of additional road resurfacing, a litter pick and the re-white lining of the Flowing Springs pub junction.”

Thanks for sharing this information, Michaela. I don’t know about others but I’ve found the unofficial (car) diversion through Dunsden has worked well. However, I’m sure the good folks of Dunsden and Binfield Heath are looking forward to having their peace back, and the Flowing Spring hopefully some of our patronage.
