Henley U10s Hockey Girls Only Lose to Reading at Marlow Tournament
Henley U10 girls attended their third tournament of the season at Marlow on Sunday, missing their coach and a strong player to illness. After a last minute reshuffle of the team positions, and thanks to Isabelle Woolfrey for joining the team Henley started strong with a win over Wycombe with a goal from Nancy Gillingham. Niamh, Alex and Nancy worked tireless in the midfield to support their defence of Lilian and Gemma, but conceded 2 goals in the next match to a very determined Reading side. The forwards (Isla, Isabelle and Georgie) were rewarded for their persistence with a goal for Isla against Marlow 2 and another win. They managed to keep a clean sheet in their final game against Marlow and salvage a draw, thanks to the numerous saves on the goal line by the defence.
