Phyllis Court members and special guests got into the festive spirit on Saturday at the Chairman’s Christmas drinks in the Club’s Ballroom.
Guests enjoyed a glass fizz with festive canapés which included pigs in blanket with bread sauce and sweet Strawberry Santas.
Chairman, Patricia Christmas (aptly named) welcomed the guests, thanked them for coming and wished everyone a Happy Christmas before inviting them to sing along with James Church who was playing festive tunes on the piano. She said, “This is a lovely event to kick off the Christmas season at the Club. It’s great for me and the other Council members to have a chance to mingle and meet lots of members as well as raising money for our charities.”
The event raised £400 for the Club’s Charity Action Group charities; Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Alexander Devine Hospice.
This event is one of many that the Club organises for its members each year. The packed social calendar gives members the opportunity to attended a variety of events including; Classical Concerts, Dinner Dances, Guest Speaker events, and of course Henley Royal Regatta to name a few!
