Balancing, tumbling and acrobatic little Santas, fairies, dogs and Ninja warriors could all be seen on Sunday in the Springbox Christmas showcase at the Henley Leisure Centre watched by their families.
Springbox Gym Club was founded 28 years ago by Caroline Sweetman who started it as a small club running from schools and has now evolved into 9 sessions a week with over 300 children. The squad take part in various displays at local fetes and events in Henley including the Living Advent Calendar and local invitational and British gymnastics competitions.
This cracking Christmas Showcase was the first whole club display they have put on with over half of the clubs gymnasts taking part with children as young as 4 up to 16.
Coach Carly Belcher said, “All the gymnasts did so well and we are very proud of all that took part. We only had about 4 hours practice this term to put the routines together. All the adults enjoyed the event but all of this wouldn’t have been possible without the help, time and support from all of the amazing Springbox coaches and the fabulous Springbox gymnasts.”
