Henley Festival have announced that after listening to feedback from festival goers they will bringing back the Classical Night for 2018 on the Sunday night of the festival (15 July) and will be working with Titanium Fireworks for a second year running to design an aerial firework display to be released from their original home, on the far side of the river.
Henley Festival was originally started as an all classical festival in 1983 but over the years has introduced more popular music performers. The last time there was a classical night was in 2016 when Bryn Terfel, a bass-baritone opera singer performed with the Welsh National Opera Orchestra and opera soprano Corinne Winters.
Last year the nightly traditional firework display after the floating stage headline show was replaced with pyrotechnics going up from around the stage.
Charlotte Geeves, Henley Festival Director said, “We’re delighted to have a classical concert as part of the Festival programme for 2018 and the icing on the cake is to be able to announce the nightly aerial fireworks display which will be delivered by Titanium who are truly superb.”
The festival will be taking place from Wednesday 11 to Sunday 15 July 2018. The full line up will be announced in January 2018.
