The 47th Henley Drama Festival will be presenting 9 different one-act drama, short plays under 50 min over 3 nights Wednesday 2 May to Friday 4 May at the Kenton Theatre.
There will be 9 plays, 3 each evening, with both youth and adult drama groups performing. Previous winners Youth Theatre, Didcot Phoenix, home favourite HAODS (last year winner) as well other prominent drama groups from all around the Oxfordshire – Oxford Theatre Guild, Alternate Shadows, Quirky Bird, North Oxford Youth Theatre and Bishopstoke Players.
Each night will be adjudicated by Colin Dolley, GoDA member since 1982, Chairman of the Drama Consortium, Chief judge for the Annual National Drama Festivals Association Play-writing Competition.
On Friday evening two plays will be invited back to Saturday Gala starting at 7pm on 5 May. After the two performances, awards will be presented and include Best Actor/Actress, Best Presentation, Original Play, Best Youth, Best All women/man and overall winner. The awards will be presented by acclaimed director and producer Jo Southwell. The evening will be concluded with a Gala party.
