Phyllis Court Appoints Fitness Centre Manager
Phyllis Court is gearing up for the opening of its Fitness Centre with news of its first appointment for the facility. Adam Powell has joined the Club as Fitness Centre Manager, charged with setting up the Centre ahead of the opening in September 2018.
With a career in the health and wellbeing industry that spans across 18 years, Adam (42) is perfectly placed to lead the Fitness Centre’s operation. He joins from Dyson where he directed the opening of its corporate fitness facility.
Adam’s brief at Phyllis Court is to create a Fitness Centre which fits in with the Club’s ethos and meets members’ requirements. He will be responsible for devising the fitness class programme including the timetable schedules and treatment menus. He will also head-up staffing and operations. All of which will be finalised in the coming weeks.
The Fitness Centre will be well appointed, with a 20m swimming pool, gym, sanarium, exercise studio, treatment and changing rooms. The building continues to take shape as the windows and doors are fitted and the electrical and mechanical fixtures will be completed next.
Adam says; “I’m thrilled to be joining Phyllis Court at such an exciting time. As the Club prepares to expand its offering and create a health and wellbeing hub for Members, I look forward to being instrumental in the next chapter of the Club’s story.
“I’ll be drawing on my experiences to ensure that the Fitness Centre delivers an exceptional service and exceeds expectations of its stakeholders.”
The new Fitness Centre, which is exclusively for Members, will add to the many benefits currently enjoyed by the membership including Henley Royal Regatta entertainment; access to thirty Interest Groups (Clubs and Societies); a huge variety of club events; varied and exciting dining; preferential accommodation and room hire rates, and access to over 100 reciprocal clubs across the world.
Phyllis Court Chairman, Patricia Christmas, commented on Adam’s appointment, “his proven track record of successfully introducing new fitness operations into a niche market made him the obvious candidate for this role. His career history, experience and skill will help us to achieve our ambitions for the Fitness Centre this year and in the future.
“We’re confident he will deliver an impressive benefit to our members and guests, and we’re excited to have him on board.”
The Phyllis Court Fitness Centre will be opening its doors to members from September 2018. Adam’s focus going forward will be on finalising the build programme and launching the services of the Centre, which will be announced in due course.
