Ben Sleet, an amazingly brave and happy 8 year old who has Spina Bifida would love to have a freestyle wheelchair so that he can join his friends at Henley skatepark.
At the opening of the skatepark last September, professional skateboarder Richie Inskip aka ‘Geordie’ took Ben around the skatepark on his skateboard. We’re sure you’ll agree, the picture above just shows what this would mean to Ben.
Ben’s Mum, Angela has started a fundraising campaign to raise £2,500 for this specialised wheelchair. She says, “Ben dreams of becoming a professional freestyle wheelchair sportsperson and wants to have the chance to play on the playground with all his able bodied friends. He desperately needs a freestyle wheelchair as the one he has tips over if he tries to do anything out of the ordinary. All I want and dream of is my special brave little man having the freedom to enjoy life despite being in a wheelchair.”
Ben said, “I really want to be able to go on the skatepark with my friends. A new freestyle wheelchair would let be get around much better.”
