Lions Help Canoe Club Purchase New Boat

Henley Lions have followed up on an approach from the Henley Canoe Club for sponsors to help them purchase three canoes to be used for Duke of Edinburgh Silver and Gold Award canoe expeditions.

The Lions gave the club £1100 to purchase a 2 person canoe. This boat has already been much used in its short life and is giving the members a great deal of fun and experience.

The craft has been aptly named ‘HENLEY LIONS’ and was officially presented to D of E Award Leader Kevin Nutt by Lion President Wendy Franklin at a short ceremony attended by a number of canoe club members and Lions Club members.
