Market Place Mews Development to Re-Start

The Market Place Mews development which came to a halt at the end of last year is now going ahead again after South Oxfordshire District Council have confirmed the sale of a small plot of land at King’s Road car park to the developer Catalyst Capital.

The plot makes up a small part of the developer’s plans to rebuild the site at Market Place Mews to provide an exciting development, which will include a range of shops and restaurants, along with 14 new homes.

Cllr Paul Harrison, cabinet member for development and regeneration at South Oxfordshire District Council said, “Henley is already a vibrant and exciting place, and this development will help breathe new life into this part of the town.”

Once complete the development will include an extra four car parking spaces but there will be some spaces out of action and temporary changes to the car park during the building works.

Work has also started on re-fitting the old Maison Blanc cafe on the corner of Duke Street and Hart Street which will re-open as a Harris + Hoole.
