Getting married is always a very special day, however for Lindsey who is a leader at 1st Henley Guides there were was an extra special surprise of a guard of honour formed by some of the Guides at St Mary’s Church.
Leader Lindsey married Carmelo at St Mary’s Church on 15 September on a beautifully sunny afternoon. After the service Lindsey and Carmelo emerged from the church to be greeted by the guard of honour. The girls remained in place whilst the guests left the church and then joined in with throwing confetti at the happy couple.
Guide Leader, Gill Chappell said, “Organising the surprise for Lindsey and Carmelo involved a certain amount of secret messaging to ensure that they didn’t find out about it. Lindsey has been a leader with 1st Henley Guides for 3 years. However, she wasn’t unknown to the unit as she had been a member as a Guide herself.”
Lindsey was attended by five bridesmaids dressed in green and carrying flowers in autumnal colours. In a lovely touch Lindsey and Carmelo’s baby daughter was carried behind her Mum by one of the bridesmaids.
