Shiplake College Art Students to Feature at Henley Arts & Craft Guild Exhibition
For many years the Henley Arts & Craft Guild committee have tried to involve more of the younger artists in the neighbourhood by including some of their pictures in Guild Exhibitions. This year is no exception, Head of Art Katie Hallam, from Shiplake College selected three of her Year-13 pupils to have their truly amazing work on display throughout the 5-day Autumn exhibition (19-23 October) at the Old Fire Station gallery.
India Christie-Miller has produced this compelling picture of a family member after undergoing hospital treatment – and Georgia Holliday’s emotive picture expresses frightening vulnerability, while Jack Rees was inspired by a visit to the Tate modern exhibition of Paulozzi sculptures, to produced this palladium glazed piece.
There will of course be many other excellent paintings and sculptures by Guild members which were selected by Katie on display and for sale during the exhibition. Open from 10am until 4pm from Friday 19 to Tuesday 23 October. Entry is free and who knows you may be able to pick up an early Christmas present while you are there.
