Phyllis Court Club Transformed into Haunted House for Halloween Bash

Phyllis Court Club looked like it had a witch’s spell put on it on Friday night when it was completely transformed into a haunted house for the first Henderson Halloween party.

Guests were greeted by a 6ft high talking Dracula and scared by members of 1st Henley Brownies before they entered the Finlay Suite which was decorated with cobwebs and spiders along with a gaggle of scary talking witches, a skeleton playing the piano and a headless man!

The guests spooked each other out too, with many being unrecognisable to their friends; dressed as witches, cats, a mummy, corpse brides and a scary clown to names just a few. Phyllis Court staff members also joined in by dressing up or adding some serious scary face paint.

Before dinner, guests enjoyed a witch’s brew drink and could have a go at throw the eyeballs in the jar and pin the bolts on Frankenstein games that were run by the Brownies. Keeping with the Halloween theme, dinner was ‘ghou-lash’ followed by a ‘tombstone torte’ chocolate dessert with a gravestone decoration on top.

Afterwards DJ Gary Boys got the dancing started with some spooktastic Halloween tunes including Thriller and Monster Mash and guests were joined by a creepy mechanical zombie who crawled across the dance floor.

Linda Key Jackson one of the organisers said, ” The support from the Club and guests was fantastic! Our first ever Henderson Halloween Party for Members and their guests proved to be a big success and it will now become an annual event in the calendar.”

Michaela Clarke, Leader of 1st Henley Brownies said, “I was delighted when Linda asked me if the Brownies could play a part in their first Halloween party. The girls had great fun scaring and playing the games with the guests.”
