Last Saturday’s charity Christmas Fair at Phyllis Court Club saw the best Christmas Fair at the Club since before 2012.
The fair raised just over £8,000, which will be added to the funds raised throughout 2018, and then shared between the Charity Action Group (CAG) charities; Thames Valley Adventure Playground, Carers Bucks and Riverside Counselling.
Shoppers enjoyed an amazing array of jewellery, homeware, toys, gadgets, shoes and clothes plus a Christmas decoration stall for the first time with everything donated by twice former Chairman and aptly named, Tricia Christmas and her sister Pauline Standley.
Proving a hit with the kids was the Magic Flow Rings available on the toy stall and Hotfooted who regular support the CAG charities with their own special shoe sales at the Club were doing a roaring trade including our Editor who was tempted to buy a nice pair of Caprice black leather knee-high boots.
Chair of the CAG, Diana Pearman said, “The footfall was consistently good throughout the five hours we were open, there was a good variety of stalls some new and many old favourites. The Christmas decorations stall was a show stopper with beautifully displayed items and Tricia and Pauline staffed the stall all day and raised over £350 for the three charities. Our sincere thanks go to them and of course the team of 12 women who work so hard throughout the year at the various events we organise.”
