Children from Badgemore Primary took over the Design and Technology workshops at Shiplake College to produce Christmas decorations which will be sold to raise money for Save The Children.
When Tom Bayley, one of the DT teachers at Shiplake College heard of the Badgemore children’s plans, he was keen to offer his assistance and expertise. “It has been great to see the children learn new skills and introduced to new equipment. We have great facilities and we are delighted to share.”
The children were able to use lots of equipment in the workshop, but their favourite was the laser cutter. “It was great to be able to take any image and just watch it cut or burnt into our Christmas decorations. I’m really pleased that I got to come today,” said Harry in Year 6.
“The children have loved their afternoon and have been very productive. We hope to come back for a whole day in the summer term and try some of the great experiences available,” commented Mr Hoskins, Deputy Headteacher at Badgemore Primary School.
All Christmas tree decorations will be on sale at Badgemore Primary School on the last day of term and the proceeds will go to Save The Children.
