A new Saturday local bus service will be starting this Satuday, 16 March and will be FREE to ride for the first day.

The service will start with 9.05am 153 service from Market Place taking the route around the Abrahams estate.

The 151 route Greys Road/Elizabeth Road will leave Market Place at 9.15am.

The Watermans Road 152 route will leave Market Place at 9.40am.

All services will then offer an hourly service at the same minutes past the hour until 1pm.

There have also been changes to the week day services.

The first 151 bus will now start at 7.05am so that commuters from Greys Road/Elizabeth Road area can get to Henley train station to connect with 7.36am to London train. There is then a second service leaving Market Place at 7.40am getting to the station at 8pm.

There is also the introduction of a 9am weekday service on all routes. Theses introductions will see changes to the minutes past the hours the services leave from Market Place below:

151 (Elizabeth Road/Greys Road) – 15 mins past the hour

152 (Watermans Estate) – 40 mins past the hour (or at 1435 or 1535)

153 – (Abrahams Estate) 5 mins past the hour

The last weekday services will finish at 5pm instead of 6pm.

Councillor Donna Crook who campaigned to save the bus as her Dad is a regular user said “The new service on a Saturday can mean that more families can leave their cars at home and come into town on the bus which is pushchair friendly.”

The bus is being subsidised by Henley Town Council through Community Infrastructure Levies paid by housing developers.
