Felix & Didi Rock the Beacon Festival
Sacred Heart pupils and siblings Felix (11) and Didi (9) Richardson played a fantastic 25 minute set at the Beacon Festival at Watlington last Friday 21 June.
They were first on to the Teen Stage at 7.30pm and were by far the youngest musicians at the Festival. They played a set of five songs – Hey Hey, My My by Neil Young, Lonely Boy by The Black Keys, Sunday Driver by The Raconteurs, Seven Nation Army and The Hardest Button To Button by White Stripes
Matt their Dad said afterwards, “They loved the experience of playing live at their first festival and were amazed at the response from the crowd and the number of artists who came to congratulate them on their performance.”
Festival organiser Simon Markland of Thame Music Academy commented, “Felix and Didi did extremely well. For their age they are well ahead of their expected musical ability. Felix’s voice had real tone to it and his guitar playing was exceptional. Didi’s drumming was also fantastic.“
Felix and Didi’s next live performance will be at 4pm at the tomorrow’s eat! Riverside Fiesta on Mill Meadows.
