Call for Volunteers to Help Children Read in Schools

ARCh (Assisted Reading for Children) a local registered charity which operates in Oxfordshire is looking for volunteers to go into Henley schools to help children who are struggling with reading.

260 Reading Helpers who give their time generously to support the literacy and communication skills of 800 children in 120 Oxfordshire primary schools each year. The number of schools requesting the service continues to grow  and there are a number of Henley schools on the waiting list.

All it takes is 1 1/2 hours, twice per week during the school week. Full training is given and ongoing support is given and travel expenses will be reimbursed.  A DBS check will be need to be carried out.
