Henley Rugby Club will be featured in a brand episode of the long-running ITV show, Midsomer Murders next Monday evening (26 August) at 8.30pm on ITV1. The episode titled, ‘The Lions of Causton’ sees the club renamed the Causton Lions.
The episode was filmed at Dry Leas back in 2017. Alistair Beynon, HRFC Commercial Manager said, “We’re very excited to see the final results as the club was transformed into the home ground of the Lions, Causton’s top rugby side. Several of the Hawks squad players play in the Lions side, which promises to deliver much in the way of mystery and suspense as the show enters its 20th anniversary.”
Many episodes of the hit TV show have been filmed in Henley over the years which include The Argyll pub, Gabriel Machin butchers, Henley Business School and Town Hall to name a few.
In the episode, alongside regulars Neil Dudgeon and Nick Hendrix are Tamzin Outhwaite, Don Gilet and Michael Maloney, as Barnaby gets to relive his former sporting glory when a death at the local Rugby Club sends Barnaby and Winter into a muddle of rucks, grudges, romance… and artisan chocolates!
