Henley Town Lose to League Leaders

Maiden Place 1 Henley Town 0

Last Sunday Henley Town Sunday team faced a tough away game at unbeaten top of the league team, Maiden Place.

The first half of the game was very evenly contested with both teams limiting each other’s chances to a minimum, Charlie York made two good saves during the half to keep the score line at 0-0. Maiden Place were on top for the final 10 mins of the first half but the Henley defenders and midfielders did well to make some crucial last ditch tackles, half time score 0-0.

The 2nd half was played in very similar to fashion to the 1st with neither team creating many clear opportunities on goal. Maiden Place broke the deadlock on 70 minutes when a long throw was flicked in at the near post, Henley searched for an equaliser but couldn’t create any clear opportunities.

Henley will play Loxwood Park at home on the 27 October.
