The Tonyx Provide Festive Cheer for Door 2 of Living Advent Calendar

The Tonyx, a female barbershop quartet with a Christmas twist provided an entertaining evening at The Angel on the Bridge for door 2 of the Living Advent Calendar.

Many Henley residents came down and braved the cold but were rewarded with a fun evening of singing, eating Copas turkey burgers and entering a raffle in aid of Parkinson’s UK.

The Tonyx opened the night with Jingle Bells and Ding Dong Merrily on High which certainly  got the crowd feeling festive.

The audience got to participate and beautifully sang a rendition of One Mince Pie. Now in full voice, The Tonyx provided some Christmas shopping tips with “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” before closing the evening alongside the crowds jingly their keys with their Christmas cover of “Hey Mister Miller”.

The Tonyx singers – Helen, Louise, Ali and Holly enjoyed performing for the Henley crowd. Speaking afterwards, Holly Stothard said, “We love playing in Henley, especially by the river. The crowd were absolutely lovely and really got into the spirit, we’ve got so many Christmas songs to share. This was our first Christmas performance of the year and we loved it.”

Living Advent Calendar organiser Richard Rodway aka Mr Christmas added, “That was absolutely incredible, there were some amazing voices in the audience tonight.”

Day 3 will see the Living Advent Calendar move inside to the River and Rowing Museum at 6.15pm and the raffle will be in aid of museum.
