Chiltern Centre Receives Money from Co-op Local Community Fund

The Co-op supermarket in Sonning Common have recently presented The Chiltern Centre with a cheque for £4,628.95.

This is as a result of the Co-op’s Local Community Fund initiative which invites Co-op members to raise much needed funds for local causes all around the UK.  In 2019 alone they have supported local causes with an amazing £17 million. Jane Ainslie, The Chiltern Centre’s Head of Fundraising applied to the fund and the Centre was lucky enough to be selected along with Kidmore End Primary School and 1st Sonning Common Scouts & Guides.

The Local Community Fund is funded through 1% of what Co-op members spend on selected Co-op branded products and services and members can decided on which good local cause t support.

Chandra, Team Manager pictured above presenting the cheque to Emma Lerche-Thomsen, Fundraiser at The Chiltern Centre.  He said, We’re very pleased. We have many regular customers using our Sonning Common Co-op and they have helped raise a lot of money for our 3 selected charities.”

Emma said “We are so thankful and amazed at the generosity of the customers to help raise such a lot of money which will go towards the care and nursing costs for our young people we look after.”
