Orchard Trees at Freemans Meadows Vandalised

Newly planted orchard trees at Freeman’s Meadow off the Fairmile have been severely vandalised last Wednesday (18 December) afternoon between 2.00pm and 3.00pm.

Many of the 12 fruit trees that were only planted last year were broken off at the trunks.

A spokesperson for the Friends of Freeman’s said, “We suspect it was a group of teenagers who were seen walking up from the town centre on Wednesday ditching half drunk beer bottles on the way.  Their images have been captured on CCTV and the identity of some of these teenagers is known. Friends of Freeman’s are offering a reward for eye witness information of this crime leading to a successful prosecution.”

The FOF are asking everyone who visits and residents who border the Meadow to be extra vigilant and report any ASB or groups of youths behaving badly to: Neighbourhood policing team at HenleyNHPT@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk
