Our Editor, Michaela Clarke was delighted to present a cheque to Riverside Counselling on Monday for £1869, the proceeds from Herald’s Community Champion Awards party in February.
The money was raised from tickets sales and a raffle. Michaela said, “This is the second year of the awards and each year we will choose a different local charity to benefit from the proceeds from the awards party. We chose Riverside Counselling this year as they offer such important mental health services in the community where clients pay for counselling at a rate that is affordable to them and this year was their 30th anniversary which made it another good reason to choose them.”
Hilary Arthur, Riverside Director and Clinical Lead said, “We are incredibly grateful for this donation from The Henley Herald and from everyone who attended the wonderful awards night last month. Looking after our our mental health is more important than ever during these challenging times. At Riverside we are continuing to support our clients by finding new ways of working and offering counselling via a video link or by phone so this donation will help us to continue to provide the support that people in Henley need. Thank you all so much.”
