Henley Arts Trail Goes Virtual
The Henley Arts Trail in its 15th year is going virtual this weekend (2-3 May) too due to the coronavirus crisis with artists and exhibitors uploading animations, images and videos to the Trail’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
The event, normally sees over 200 artists at over 30 venues in and around Henley showcasing their works in galleries, shops, village halls and homes. From paintings to sculptures, jewellery to ceramics, there’s something for everyone.
Jo from Henley Arts Trail said, “We only decided a few days ago to go ahead with it and we are getting some lovely work sent in by our artists and some really positive feedback. It’s a bit of an experiment, new to us and we are learning as we go along.”
“We felt it would be such a shame not to do something after all the hard work we’d put in to organising the 2020 trail and we want to support our local, talented creative community! Times are tough for artists and makers at the moment as all their events or exhibitions they were due to take part in have been cancelled. Online seems the place to be right now and the least we can do is use our platform to support them and showcase their wonderful work!”
You can download the leaflet to see details of artists here
Most of the work shown on social media is for sale. If you would like to buy anything get in touch with Henley Arts Trail and they will put you directly in touch with the artists.
Jo added, “For a lot of our followers visiting the Henley Arts Trail every year is an annual event so i hope the virtual trail will bring them some pleasure and positivity in these unsettling times.”
