School Cupcakes With a Safe Swirl Raise Money for Macmillan

Rupert House School normally host a large coffee morning annually for Macmillan however with Covid-19 restrictions in place, this year they needed to come up with a safe way to raise money for this important charity.

Their Head Chef, Emilia and her catering team baked 400 delicious dairy and nut free cupcakes (plus a few gluten free ones) for pupils and staff to buy for a £1 to enjoy at lunchtime.  After school Emilia and Headteacher Nick Armitage also handed out cakes to parents who gave further donations and a local PCSO who was passing by the school entrance couldn’t resist one of the cakes either!

Nick Armitage said, “Obviously with the Covid-19 restrictions in place, this event was more of a challenge to conduct safely this year, but we found a way and managed to raise a tremendous £573 for the charity.”
