A Message From Great Western Railway:
“Dear Henley Herald Readers
Following the announcement of the five day Christmas travel period, we thought it would be helpful to let you know about our Christmas and New Year services.
Services will run normally on 23 December. On Christmas Eve late afternoon and evening services will be amended to prepare for our usual closure on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Heathrow Express trains will run on Boxing Day.
There are no planned closures of London Paddington station, and services to London will operate normally throughout.
On the North Downs Line, rail improvement work around Gatwick Airport will mean the line is closed between Redhill and Gatwick Airport from Sunday 27 December to Sunday 3 January. This does not affect other train operator’s services which will continue to operate between Redhill and Gatwick Airport.
It is also worth noting that there is rail improvement work between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction which will affect South Western Railway services.
We want to do all we can to help those who are travelling this year to do so safely and comfortably. We are asking customers to check their journeys before travel on www.gwr.com and we have also set out advice about travelling on https://www.gwr.com/safety”
If you have any questions, local rail support group Henley Trains will be happy to help. Just email email@example.com
