Phyllis Court Applies for Planning Extension
Phyllis Court have submitted a planning application for a small, single-story glass extension to the Ballroom and Finlay Suite.
The application states, “The Club provides a social environment to its members, which the applicant is looking to extend in unprecedented times to increase its ability to maintain and provide both a viable and required facility [and] to ensure the preservation of the building and grounds within what is an established business in the heart of Henley.
The proposed extension of Phyllis Court would clearly represent appropriate development and proposes an efficient and viable future use of the facilities offered within a highly sustainably location.”
Commenting on the plans, CEO and Club Secretary Chris Hogan said ‘I am pleased to share that the plans for the extension to the Ballroom are currently under consultation. The extension is a necessary and beneficial addition to the Club which will enable us to accommodate a slightly larger number of Members in the main restaurant whilst following social distancing restrictions. The team has worked tirelessly in preparing and submitting the planning application, and we’re looking forward to hopefully getting started in the coming months.’
The Club hopes to open the extension later in the year.
The public consultation ends on 29 January 2021. To see the plans and to comment click here.
