The Lions Club of Henley are inviting children to enter a painting competition to win £50 worth of art materials.
The competition is open to Under 10s and the painting should be inspired by a view from a window. Last year the Lions Club ran a very successful photo competition which invited children to capture wildlife in their garden during lockdown.
Entries need to A4 in size and accompanied by an entry form which can be found at https://henleylions.org.uk/2021/02/22/painting-competition-for-the-under-10s Closing date is 28 March 2021.
Lions Club member, Ian Forster who is running the competition said, “Young children must be very frustrated and finding it difficult to understand being so restricted. Maybe they are looking around their confined space with different eyes. I thought, just wonder what they find of most interest looking through their window, particularly on a cold or wet day. It would also be quite interesting to look back in 10 years time, to see how they responded to the conditions of this strange way of life. It could be a snowdrop or next door’s cat or the sun setting over the rooftops?”
