On Tuesday 15th June, Henley entertained Reading in a 4 triples men’s friendly, losing on 3 of the 4 rinks with the score 63-76.
Barrie Davies with new member John Wilkinson, in his first match, and Kevin Browne extended his winning run to 4, with the score 19-8.
Simon Hatcher with Frank Powell and Andy Scott we’re level 9 all after seven ends, having been 2 up after three ends, but couldn’t regain the lead, and dropped a three on the last end to go down 15-20.
Peter Borsberry with Brian Duddy and James Turner 4 up after three ends, and level after nine ends, fell away to be 12 down after thirteen ends, going down 14-23.
Colin Ward with David Maybury and Nigel Bridges were 7 down after four ends, then picked up a 5 and a 2 to be level after six ends, they fell away to 8 down after eleven ends, 15 down after sixteen ends, then picked up 5 on the last ends to go down 15-25.
On Sunday 20th June, Henley entertained Suttons in a 5 mixed triples friendly, winning on 3 rinks and just running out winners 95-89.
Steve Sullivan with David Maybury and Joan Edwards were 5 up after five ends, and steadily pulled away running out winners 22-10.
Norman Daniells with Angelika Crisa and Peter Borsberry were down 2 after four ends, and then led 10-9 after eight ends, from there they raced away to a finishing score of 31-11.
Barrie Davies with Lynn Sayer and Peter Watkins were 8 up after four ends, but only 3 after fourteen ends, then picked up a 7 on the next end, winning 24-13.
David Burdon with Jeanie Davies and Andy Scott were 2 down after fifteen ends, but dropped 10 shots on the last ends to go down 12-24.
Dave Wilson with Romy Painter and Kevin Browne were only 2 down after six ends, but struggled from there to go down 6-31.
