Vintage Chic Upcycling Shop Opens

A new upcycling furniture business, Vintage Chic Henley has opened in Friday Street in the former Daisy Boutique shop.

Owner Keron Jordan has been an avid upcycler for many years and for the last 7 years she has had a unit in the Ladds Garden Centre in Hare Hatch.

Keron said, “I’m delighted to open the shop in Henley as I’ve always loved Henley and it’s fairly local to Maidenhead where I live.  When the garden centre was being refurbished, none of the concessions were renewed and we were all evicted.  I looked around and saw that Daisy’s Boutique was available and thought it was perfect.”

The shop sells Karon’s upcycled furniture both painted and decoupaged, along with five different ranges of Frenchic chalk furniture paint plus a small range of home accessories; ornaments, vases etc. and furniture knobs.

The five ranges of Frenchic paint includes the original range of colours which requires a top coat, an Alfresco inside/outside range that can be used on PVC, metal, rattan, a Lazy range which has waxed infused in the paint so no top coat is needed and Wall paint and Trim paint (for skirtings etc) in a large range of colours.  The paint costs £19.95 for 750ml for £9.95 for 250ml.  Keron comments, “I love the application of the paint, it is very smooth, easy to use and you get a really nice result.  It’s also environmentally friendly and non-toxic too so it can be used on children’s toys.”

Keron also offers a commission service to paint people’s furniture and kitchen units.  She will also be offering furniture painting and decoupage workshops for beginners and advanced in the shop (maximum of 2 people).

Since opening Keron has seen a good trade, she comments, “It has been really good.  I’ve had lots of interest and I’ve already had 2 people commission me to do a desk and another to repaint a table and chairs.  We’ve sold quite a lot of paint too.

The shop is open Wed to Saturday 9.30-4.30pm and Sunday 10.00-4.00pm.
