Hennerton Golf Charity Day Raises Money for Headway Thames Valley
An exciting and competitive Hennerton Golf Club Charity Day, generously sponsored by BMW Sytner Maidenhead, in aid of Headway Thames Valley, the local branch of a national brain injury charity. Headway provides vital support and rehabilitation services to people in local communities affected by brain injury and is based a Bruner Hall on Greys Road.
24 teams played in a 4 ball Stableford competition with the best two scores on each hole counting towards the overall tally. The 4 ‘Hole in One’ prizes created considerable excitement and fierce competition particularly as the ‘star’ prize on the 180 yard 11th was a stunning BMW car sponsored by BMW Sytner Maidenhead, carefully positioned just beyond the green!
Of the 96 participants there were several men and women playing off minus handicaps with remaining competitors across all levels of golfing ability. Delighted to welcome visiting teams, the club looks forward to increasing both member and visitor participation next year, Hennerton’s 30th anniversary. Sadly, despite several very near misses, the ‘hole in one’ BMW and Marriott golf holidays in Portugal and UK remained unclaimed.
The leading teams won fantastic prizes including Callaway golf bags, shoes, umbrellas and more; an excellent choice of 4 balls generously donated by golf clubs UK wide provided raffle and silent auction prizes. Hennerton was thrilled to be able to raise a considerable sum for Headway whilst enjoying a very successful day.
1st and winners of Callaway golf bags with 91 points were Rosh and Karen Vive, Joen and Andrea Schaenzler, proving marital harmony can exist on the golf course!
2nd with a score of 88 pts and winners of Callaway golf shoes, were Colin Quick, Charity Griffiths, Alan and Chris Dishington
3rd place, winning golf umbrellas, with 85 pts went to Carlos Garcia, Di Moss, Jo Pavey and Holger Sie Radzinski and 4th with 84 pts taking home golf shoe bags were Ann Ellis, Chris Brown, Francesca Gunn and Peter Harland-Jones
Other Prizes
No-one wanted to pay the bar bill for a hole in one so the BMW car, two holiday breaks and driver all went unclaimed.
