Hawks Player Sadly Dies After Collapsing After Match

Henley Hawks lock player David Hyde sadly passed away in hospital on Saturday evening after he collapsed after the match against Old Albanian at Dry Leas.

Chris Nixon Chair of Henley Rugby Club said, “It is with immense sadness that I have to inform you of the tragic loss of David. Our thoughts go out to his wife Katherine, his young son, close family and all his friends within our club. Dave was a gentle giant, strong family man, great friend to many and a much loved and highly respected member of our club. He will be so greatly missed.

Messages of condolences have been posted on social media from both the Henley Rugby Club community and rugby clubs around the country.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
