Laurence Menswear Donates £1000 to Chiltern Centre

Laurence Menswear in Duke Street presented a cheque to The Chiltern Centre on Friday for £1,000 from donations raised at the Christmas Festival in November.

Laurence Morris said, “We offered mulled wine and mince pies courtesy of Lawlor’s and we asked people to donate to the charity.  We raised £800 on the night and Laurence Menswear have donated £200 to make it up to the £1,000.  We choose a different charity every year.  We chose The Chiltern Centre because they are such a worthwhile cause and they do a fantastic job for the community.  I’m very proud to support them.”

Emma Lerche-Thomsen, Fundraising Consultant  for The Chiltern Centre, “We’re very grateful to Laurence for choosing and donating to our charity and I would like to thank everyone who donated on the night too.”

Pippa Morton, Team Leader at The Chiltern Centre said, “We were in discussions today about getting another vehicle as we’re getting more walkers staying at the Centre.  We’ve got the minibus and the wheelchair accessible vehicle but we may put the money towards a little run around for those more able bodied people.  Or we might use the money for outings to bowling, cinema, visits to farms, wildlife centres etc.”
