Pavilion Launches Jam Competition in Celebration of Queen’s Jubilee
In celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Pavilion deli and fine food store, is searching for the best amateur jam-makers to take part in their conserve competition, offering the chance for their product, complete with their name on it, to line the store’s shelves.
Pavilion are challenging jam lovers far and wide to invent the most original and delicious jam recipe with the winning product to be stocked and sold in their Market Place store. Teaming up with McNeill’s Fine Foods, the jam-makers for double Royal Warrant Fortnum and Mason, Pavilion will work with McNeill’s to oversee production of the winning conserve that will adorn the shelves in store throughout the summer and autumn months.
The conserves will be judged by an all-star panel of industry experts including Pavilion founder, Micah Judah, Pavilion Head Chef Tania Steytler, as well as the team from McNeill’s Fine Foods. A very special head judge will be announced at a later date. Jam-obsessed judges will be looking for the best of the best, and adjudicating the following criteria: visual appeal, aroma, texture, and flavour.
The winning conserve should be perfect for any occasion, whether that be slathered all over a scone with lashings of clotted cream, used as a sumptuous filling to a Victoria sponge, or served as an ideal companion to cheese and crackers.
To enter, visit us in-store or email hello@pavilionfoods.co.uk to fill out the form and send us to two samples of your specialty jam!
Final entries need to be submitted between 25 April to 7 May. The winner will be announced on Saturday 14 May.
Pavilion are searching for the 2022 King or Queen of jam-making, to produce a conserve fit for a Queen and worthy of a Jubilee party. So, whether jam making has been a lifelong passion, it became a lockdown hobby, or you’ve got your grandma’s secret recipe hidden away somewhere, Pavilion want to try it!
