Henley Drama Festival Back to Celebrate Its Glorious 50th Anniversary

Where else could you get it twelve live theatre performances over five evenings?

The Henley Drama Festival of course and it is back in its glorious 50th anniversary year at the Kenton Theatre between 3-7 May.

Who’s on? Some long-established from Henley of course, but also the Oxford and Maidenhead Theatre Guilds – and some newer local voluntary theatre companies. Spot the professional stars of the future perhaps? The Limitless Academy of Performing Arts are coming for the first time.

…and performing what? You might spot new star writers too – there are  several original plays. Or one lately seen at the Royal National Theatre, a classic ‘60s take on politics and the English language, the best-known short comedy by the genius who was Anton Chekov. There’s a real variety.

Jill Richardson will adjudicate every evening on all aspects of the performances: praise, helpful hints for improvement and you can compare your opinion with hers. Come early for the Saturday night show and see the presentations of the prizes before several distinguished guests.
