Cubs Carry Out Litter Pick for Environmental Conservation Badge

1st Henley on Thames Monday cubs carried out a litter pick around Mill Meadows last week as part of their Environmental Conservation Activity badge.

30 cubs, 4 scouts, 6 leaders and 3 DofE helpers cleared litter from all around the park for an hour and half and collected a calor gaz bottle, a trolley, a bra and a plethora of beer bottles, cigarette butts, food wrappers etc.

Other parts of the badge include learning out to separate rubbish, how to reduce water and electricity in your home and finding out about renewable energy.

Leader Ed Earl said, “We were amazed at the amount of rubbish we collected in the short time and we got gifted a box of Celebrations chocolates by a moored boater as a little thank you. We’d like to thank Henley Town Council (Kyle Dowling) who very kindly helped us by providing litter pickers and bin bags for the evening.”
